Faust is a tragic play in two parts by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, usually known in English as Faust, Part One and Faust, Part Two. Although rarely staged in its entirety, it is the play with the largest audience numbers on German-language stages. Faust is considered by many to be Goethe's magnum opus and the greatest work of German literature. The earliest forms of the work, known as the Urfaust, were developed between 1772 and 1775; however, the details of that development are not entirely clear. Urfaust has twenty-two scenes, one in prose, two largely prose and the remaining 1,441 lines in rhymed verse. The manuscript is lost, but a copy was discovered in 1886. The first appearance of the work in print was Faust, a Fragment, published in 1790. Goethe completed a preliminary version of what is now known as Part One in 1806. Its publication in 1808 was followed by the revised 1828–29 edition, the last to be edited by Goethe himself. Goethe finished writing Faust Part Two in 1831; it was published posthumously the following year. In contrast to Faust Part One, the focus here is no longer on the soul of Faust, which has been sold to the devil, but rather on social phenomena such as psychology, history and politics, in addition to mystical and philosophical topics. The second part formed the principal occupation of Goethe's last years. Among the most significant works Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: Faust, The Sorrows of Young Werther, Wilhelm Meister's Apprenticeship, Elective Affinities, Prometheus, Zur Farbenlehre, Italienische Reise, West–östlicher Divan and many more.

Jane Austen is one of the founders of classic novels for women. Her most famous novel Pride and Prejudice is rightfully considered to be the masterpiece of the world literature. Walter Scott, Somerset Maugham, Virginia Woolf and Richard Aldington admired the talented “first Lady” of the English literature. Wittily and directly described actions of the novel happen in provincial England in the end of eighteenth century. For about two hundred years readers have been mesmerised by the love story of Mr Darcy and Miss Elizabeth who managed to correct the mistake of pride and prejudice. Famous works of the author Jane Austen: Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, Persuasion, Lady Susan.

Written in Sesotho in 1909 and first translated in 1931, Thomas Mofolo’s classic South African novel has formed the foundation of all modern interpretations of the Shaka legend. A modern tragedy and the first of its kind to mythologise the life of the Zulu Warrior King, Chaka tells the tragic story of a boy shunned by his father – a Zulu prince born out of wedlock who, through unbridled ambition, sorcery and sheer brutality, claims his rightful place as heir to the throne. This edition features Daniel P. Kunene’s modern English translation, an introduction by the translator and a brand-new foreword by Wamuwi Mbao.

Maisie at 8000 Feet is the story of an eight-year old girl who can fly and her idyllic summer in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey that ends in a moment of catastrophic loss. Following the death of her mother, Maisie travels the Pine Barrens with her artist/archeologist father; meets his cousin and confidante, Sally, who wants to repair the little girl’s heart; and flies over it all trying to see how her life could have taken such a turn. Many years later, her son gone to college and her marriage ended, Maisie struggles to reconnect with the aging Sally. Doing so, she hopes to understand why her father didn’t raise her, what that long-ago summer was all about, and whether she has ever really been attached to anyone in any place. Seen from both the heights of Maisie’s childlike imagination and the rootless perspective of the woman she becomes, the catastrophe in the Pine Barrens links with other fractures in her life to reveal the slippery connection between remembering and forgetting.Maisie at 8000 Feet is the next novel in Frederick Reuss’s deeply personal investigation of cultural memory and the perpetual trick of knowing who we are. A standalone story, it is even richer when seen alongside Mohr (2006) and A Geography of Secrets (2010).As The New York Times has asserted, Reuss writes “with brilliant understanding and a painter’s rich detail.”

And she wonders if she will have something of substance to say to her baby. It's the baby growing inside her that begins to wake her up, that causes her to start thinking about things in a different way.Yslea drifts into the lives of four people who occupy three dilapidated row houses along the train tracks outside of Memphis: «The way their three little row houses sort of leaned in toward each other and the way the paint peeled and some of the windows were covered with cardboard, the row might as easily have been empty.»
