La revisión de tres intentos de matar al caudillo Francisco Franco es el comienzo de tres reflexiones acerca de la legitimidad de la dictadura, y la estrategia insurreccional en el interior del país que pretendía visibilizar su fragilidad y propiciar su caída.
El autor se apoya en discursos tan dispares como los de Schmitt, Hobbes, Derrida o von Clausewitz para intentar desentramar la construcción simbólica de la soberanía dictatorial, revisar las formas en que grupos irregulares se han enfrentado a gobiernos de esta naturaleza y explicar cómo el franquismo pretendió investirse de una legitimidad trascendente que el éxito de cualquiera de estos planes hubiera desbaratado por completo. A la postre, la dictadura ganó la partida afianzando una división indeleble entre «vencedores» y «vencidos», una división que consiguió apuntalar al régimen hasta la muerte del dictador y que todavía aflora en el seno de la sociedad española en momentos de zozobra.

Neben seiner Arbeit an der neuen Version der Bibel und verschiedenen Übersetzungen verfasste Eznik von Kolb mehrere Werke, von denen das wichtigste seine bemerkenswerte apologetische Abhandlung «Wider die Irrlehren» ist. Es wurde zwischen 441 und 449 geschrieben und besteht aus vier Teilen: Im ersten, «Gegen die Heiden», bestreitet Eznik die Ewigkeit der Materie und die substantielle Existenz des Bösen. Im zweiten widerlegt er die Hauptlehren des Parseeismus/Zoroastrismus, insbesondere den Zurvanismus. Der dritte Teil richtet sich gegen Aspekte der Glaubensvorstellungen der griechischen Philosophen (Pythagoräer, Platoniker, Peripatetiker, Stoiker und Epikureer). Dies ist der einzige Abschnitt, in dem Eznik seine Argumente aus der Bibel und nicht aus der Vernunft bezieht. Das vierte Buch ist eine Darstellung und Widerlegung des Marcionismus als einer dualistischen Häresie. Ein wesentliches Thema des Werkes ist die Bedeutung des freien Willens in der christlichen Theologie.

The history of Texas and her struggle for liberty is unlike that of any other State in our Union, and it will be found to read more like a romance than a detail of facts. Here was a territory, immense in size, that was little better than a wilderness, a territory gradually becoming settled by Americans, Mexicans, Spaniards, French, and pioneers of other nations, a territory which was the home of the bloodthirsty Comanche and other Indians, and which was overrun with deer, buffalo, and the wild mustang, and which was, at times, the gathering ground for the most noted desperadoes of the southwest."
