– they are held by the love and thoughts of the angelic host, and by the love and thoughts of that part of the angelic host that is still escaping by travelling through the cleansing spheres towards Infinity. They are held as a concept, and so you have spirits on our side whose sole purpose, at this point in time, is to hold the concepts of those souls steady until the time when the process – placed around them by the Lords of Karma – begins, and they are drawn into physical incarnation.

      From the point of view of the soul, the ‘past’ (as you would understand it) is wiped out. The past spiritually is wiped out. It is only when they incarnate that for them consciousness appears to spring from nowhere. They have no concept of having lived before or having been in spiritual realms. They start, conscious-wise, from that new pool of energy placed around them at the point of incarnation.

      Because they are so ‘hell-bent’ (and I use the term deliberately) …hell-bent on a new incarnation that that is their entire focus, it is only as they grow, and hopefully have been influenced to grow, into a situation that will give them pause for thought that they can at that point access their soul memories and their past-life memories. The point when they go into stasis is the point at which all logical and spiritual argument has failed, leaving that soul with only a forward motion to consider …a ‘forward motion’ (from their point of view – not from ours) into a further physical incarnation.

      The work to re-educate souls never ends.

      The work to love souls never ends.

      …And I hope you can see the juxtaposition of points of view here: in that you have souls who appear to be suffering on Earth but that is from their own volition, and yet, on the other hand, you have this great pool of love around each soul that maintains them, directs them and is trying always – even when they are not physically or spiritually conscious – to evolve and to enlighten them …and by ‘enlighten’ I mean putting Light into them to infuse them with Light.

      So, I would say to you – do not see the process as being harsh. You have to remember when you see someone suffering that they have agreed to that suffering …either as part of a refining process they accepted before they incarnated again, or as a result of their thoughts, in their present life, reacting and interacting with the matrix of Field-energy that exists around the Earth at this time.

      It is never a judgement.

      It is never a punishment.

      It is always a ‘watering can’ being applied to the ‘seed’ so that the seed-within might grow.

      And that is the way I would ask readers of this chapter to regard suffering on Earth. You understand, of course, from the Fall that suffering is as a result of the speeding up of matter and the refusal to let go of the attitude that you were ‘right’ at the time of the Fall. You were ‘right’ …and you still believe you are right. All the processes of suffering that come to a soul physically and mentally are there to shake that belief and to say: ‘The ‘right’ that I thought was so right is only surface, only physical, only mental – it is not me. I need to blossom beyond this. I need to break out of it. I need to let it fall away from me.’

      And at that point – whenever that point is (whether that soul is a few hours old or decades old) then the soul is returned to its original path. The suffering is imposed by the soul out of ignorance or a desire to re-establish itself as the spiritual being it really is.

      We look forward to a time when there will be no between-states. We look forward to a time when, having evolved beyond the effects of the Fall, the angelic children of the Fall are able to visit planets in full consciousness of who they are to experience aspects of those spheres and then return to a greater spiritual reality, without pain or fear, in full consciousness of who they are.

      That is the normal state of things outside the effects of the Fall. But, because of the effects of the Fall, you have drawn a ‘curtain’ around the way things are outside the physical sphere of the Earth …and to a certain extent outside the spiritual realms, i.e. the cleansing realms that surround and interpenetrate the Earth. On the lower spheres of existence (but not the Lower Astral, which is a turbulent area) the realisation of how things operate beyond the cleansing spheres is only understood by a few, and then only partially.

      So, what I am suggesting is that there is a skewed view of ‘Heaven’ on the lower spheres because the souls there are, yes, moving away from the Earth, but still, in many, many cases, have yet to re-embrace the reality of how spiritual existence is beyond the Earth and beyond the cleansing spheres. It is a gradual awakening according to the soul potential and soul memories of each individual soul.

      This may help you to understand, in turn, why many souls return to converse through mediums and exhibit a level of understanding only slightly removed and elevated from the level of understanding they had whilst they were encased in physical matter on Earth. They are still growing and still divesting themselves of the effects of the Fall.

      There exists then a time when they have a duality of nature where they begin to appreciate their greater soul existence, soul potential and soul memory of who they were, and yet are hanging on to one aspect of their various incarnations or to one personality. In this case, mediums see those souls at the same time trying to communicate as a glowing, shining spirit and also as a personality in contemporary clothes wishing to talk to a family member about something banal or seemingly trivial.

      So, the between-state I wished to speak about today relates to the between-state of souls in stasis before reincarnating on the Earth plane. It also relates, to some extent, to some of the lower spheres where people have not yet totally reinvested in their soul memories, have not yet totally reconnected with who they truly are, and are still seeing their surroundings and their path from the somewhat limited viewpoint of who they were in their last personality on Earth.

      Can I invite questions at this point, please?

      David: Joseph, in this between-state, where does God fit in …the God-within? You say that the soul is ‘managed’ by the angelic host and that the angelic host converses with the soul’s God-within to figure out what is best for that soul…

      Joseph: The soul at that point is, strangely, in its almost purest God-form because, in order to get what it wants, it has relinquished most of its soul memories and most of its earthly-life memories. However, there is integrated with it – as a ‘polluted’ expression of God – the subconscious, almost sub-atomic structure of who it was, and that retains it as the sum of its memories without it consciously having those memories, if that makes sense. In other words, were that structure not there, the soul would be complete God-energy …but God-energy without the individual imprint running through it. So, the individual imprint runs through it to maintain its individuality, but that imprint is at its most basic form because it is not influenced by the will or the memory of the soul with regard to earthly lives or spiritual lives at that point.

      The God-within is at its strongest, but the God-within will not influence even at that stage – except through other manifestations of the God-within [reference to the angel host] who are attempting to reach that soul consciously and influence it …by using their own free will. So, the soul is almost in its purest form, but it has activated a process, activated a desire and so must travel through that desire to get to the next desire or activation, which also has to be free will.

      Does that make sense?

      David: I think so, yes. In a sense it has been stripped back and its memories and so forth, up to that point, have been put to one side by volition, and, once that process has started, it has to be seen through to the end – the circle, in effect.

      Joseph: Yes, and this is to do with the creative nature of ourselves as spiritual beings that there has to be ‘due process’ in everything that we do. It is the due process that was interrupted by the effects of the Fall. In normal due process you have an opening out to a desire …you have a formation of that desire …you have the experience that is brought to you by that desire …and then you have a relinquishing
