El año 2019 le brindó a la Universidad Católica de Santa Fe la oportunidad de hospedar a los adherentes al Personalismo como así también a todo universitario interesado en hacer de la Persona el centro significante de sus actos habituales. La excusa fue el V Congreso Iberoamericano de Personalismo que, como desde 2011, convoca en diversos países de América Latina a compartir unos días de aprendizaje, contactos, experiencias y desafíos que se producen cuando se adhiere a este movimiento. Con el tiempo he optado por definir al Personalismo como un Movimiento y no tanto como una filosofía ni mucho menos con un sistema o teoría. Se trata, a mi juicio, del impulso que anima y transforma nuestras prácticas cotidianas cuando se llevan a cabo mirando, por sobre todas las cosas, al valor irrenunciable e incomparable de la persona humana. Adherir a este movimiento permite concebir a la familia, a la salud, a la educación, a las empresas, a los derechos y a todas las instituciones que las sostienen de un modo diverso y profundamente humanista. Con este espíritu este V Congreso se desarrolló en tres jornadas en las que los asistentes compartieron tanto conferencias centrales, como también trabajos de exposición en pequeñas áreas disciplinares. Ocasión, todo esto, para fortalecer lazos personales e institucionales con docentes de Universidades latinoamericanas de Perú, Chile, México, Ecuador, Venezuela, Argentina y también universidades de España. Cuando inicié este trabajo de compilación de los artículos que aquí se presentan, se hablaba lejanamente de un virus extraño que afectaba alguna población de Oriente. Hoy, me encuentra haciéndolo en un escenario extraño y desafiante como es una vida en aislamiento producida por la Pandemia que desató aquel virus. Hoy, mas que nunca, cobra sentido volver a escuchar a todos estos autores que nos hablan de un faro que ilumina nuestras vidas: la Persona no se realiza en soledad. Añoramos y esperamos nuevas oportunidades de encuentro en el próximo Congreso porque, en el fondo, añoramos que todas las personas sean reconocidas en su dignidad de vivir, de morir y de dejar huella en los demás. El personalismo sigue dándonos criterios para hacerlo posible.

This work is intended to be a record of all that Germans have accomplished in the United States a record of honest endeavor, energy, perseverance, strength and achievement. It shall, in addition, show the part that the American citizen of German blood has taken in the making of these United States, in peace and war, on the battlefield as well as in the counting house, the workshop and laboratory, in the realm of science and education or in the long fight that was necessary to extend civilization and culture over a continent. The book contains a history of German immigration in the United States from the first settlements to the present day, showing what the Germans were who left the fatherland, why they came, and what they did in their new country. Every incident throwing light upon the work done by the German element has been made use of to give a complete, though concise, and impartial recital of its activity, and a description of the influence it has exerted upon the development of the Union. In the second part the biographies of many Americans of German nativity or descent are given. History is not complete if it chronicles only the deeds of the few who in times of strife and combat rise above the surface; it must tell us of the many who have fought and succeeded. The value of so large and important a part of the American people as the German immigrants and their descendants can be fully understood only if it is shown how many of them have been successful, and how they have, by long and earnest travail, risen to unusual heights.

They cover a wide field of his work: biblical exegesis, hermeneutic and homiletic fundamental questions, agendean and liturgical lines of development, and exemplary sermons. Central theological questions are already visible in the headlines of some essays: Who is Jesus Christ for us today? Preaching love today? What is a good sermon? Worship with constant desire?
