      Ollie gets ready for school

Ollie was loving learning about his superpowers. Life was so much better with them. He wasn’t being bullied anymore and had made lots of new friends; he had been picked for the school football first team and was playing really well, and he was happy all the time!

Every day Ollie woke up and thought about the day ahead and then had a chat with the Captain about what superpowers he would need that day to make the day brilliant.

It was a week after Ollie got his trainers back. He was still asleep, when he heard a little voice calling to him and felt someone tickling his nose! Ollie yawned and opened his eyes.

“Oh good morning, Captain,” Ollie said with sleepy salute. “Can I just have five more minutes, please? I am really tired this morning.”

“Oh no,” said the Captain, “we have to sort out what superpowers you need today, before your mum comes in to get you up for school.”

“But I am really tired,” moaned Ollie, trying to snuggle back down under the duvet.

“And I know why,” said the Captain, pulling the duvet off Ollie and revealing Happy and Excited snuggled up next to Ollie.

“Oi, you two, you are now banned from Ollie at night time – you keep him awake being happy and excited, and he is too tired for school! Wake up, both of you, and off you go!” said the Captain.

Happy and Excited yawned and dragged themselves sleepily up on to Ollie’s chest and vanished.

“Right,” said the Captain looking at his clipboard, “today you have Maths, English and History, and then PE, and after school you have football practice. Then you’re going with your mum to the old peoples’ home to help her welcome a new grandma who’s moving in today. So, let me see… For Maths, English and History you will need Concentration…” Out popped a little chap with ‘Concentration’ written on his shirt – he had a note book and a magnifying glass, and started concentrating on the state of Ollie’s room, which really needed a tidy-up.

“We will also need Self-control, as I know by 3 o’clock you will be thinking about football, and Concentration here won’t be able to keep you focused on your lessons.
