From the moment sin entered the world, God has been bringing humankind back to Himself. He has spoken like thunder and whispered like the wind; He has stirred the waters and calmed them; He has shaken the mountains and given visions and dreams. God has used these and may other avenues to teach and guide those willing to listen and see.

In His dealings with those He loves, it is evident that God is never more personal, more direct, more piercing than when He asks a question. God does not questions us so that we become informed, He questions us so that we will grow.

We have all asked questions of God at one time or another, but rarely do we stop to consider the questions God may be asking us. By examining various times throughout the Scriptures when God questioned His people to bring the back to Himself, Ten Questions God Asked invites readers to examine their hearts and minds and apply the personal lessons to their lives. Study questions at the end of each chapter make Ten Questions God Asked an ideal book for individual and groups study and reflection.

This is a study of the concept of God, not from the perspective of any religious tradition, but rather as belief in a supernatural entity as has prevailed through the ages. The book's unique perspective is to ask what can be modeled in denotative language (much as modeling in science, medicine and modern professions) in contrast to connotative language (e.g., myth, metaphor, art and music). It adopts the assumption of model-based reality, as currently prevalent in physics and some branches of philosophy. That criterion means an entity can be called real for public discourse purposes only to the extent that a credible model can be made of what the entity is or how it works (as contrasted to the private reality of thoughts, perceptions or dreams.)

"It is rare to see the ultimate question of God as prime mover examined as a problem open to rigorous scientific inquiry. Thomas Sheridan has now done it with admirable clarity."
—Edward O. Wilson, Pellegrino University Research Professor Emeritus, Harvard University, Two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, and author of the The Meaning of Human Existence (2014).

"Sheridan's argument supporting atheism is different and unique. It is a scholarly, scientific argument, rather than an emotional one. It should be included in every library collection focused on human belief systems."
—David G. Gil, Professor Emeritus of Social Policy, Brandeis University.

"The book is well written, well-organized, comprehensive, informative, and unique. I am not aware of similar books in the literature."
—Victor Stenger, Author of God, the Failed Hypothesis, Professor Emeritus of Physics, University of Hawaii and Visiting Fellow in Philosophy, University of Colorado.

"A novel addition to what one might call 'quantitative theology', raising some interesting ideas about the relation of science to religion. It also provides a concise summary of the history of religion and ideas, and an excellent summary both of scientific method and scientific modeling. The latter alone makes the book worth buying."
—Neville Moray, Professor Emeritus of Applied Cognitive Psychology, University of Surrey, UK.

"His father and mother did not know that this was from the Lord; for he was seeking a pretext to act against the Philistines" — Judges 14:4, NRSV.

It is most alarming that this ignorance was not only the misfortune of Samson's parents and his people, Israel, but it is also reflected in the Christian tradition. This tradition has perpetuated an incorrect, promiscuous view of this hero of faith by failing to consider the gracious outworking of God's peculiar providence and sovereign will.

Truly, this unconventional masterpiece is filled with surprising truth packages that prompt faith and bring fresh hope to life. In this volume, Dr Roy takes you into a very intriguing journey through the window of this X-file (Judges 14:4), to unveil the wonderful workings of God's mysterious purpose in the life of his childhood hero, Samson.

You will be greatly amazed, as he was, when you come face to face with yourself in the life of Samson. There you will discover that God's guiding providence is able to work out, and through, all situations–the Xfile in your life–for your present and eternal good, and His glory.

Book 1: WHAT CAN I DO FOR JESUS, SINCE EVERYDAY I ASK HIM TO DO SOMETHING FOR ME?!

This collections of fictitious short-stories is based on each identified esthetic need, that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ found so "invaluable", that those men and women whom professed to be co-heirs with Him, would be subjected unto "everlasting punishment" (v46) for neglecting the fulfillment of any of these charitable deeds. These holy "household chores" expected to be attended to, according to the Holy Scriptures, in Immanuel's own words, are clearly outlined in verses 35 & 36, in which cover hunger, thirst, homelessness, supplying those without clothes, supporting the sick and imprisoned believer. Book 1 covers the following:

1.Hunger
2.Thirst
3.Welcoming a Stranger

Many years ago, the Flying Wallendas were performing with the Circus and were quite a attraction wherever they performed their high wire act. In one city in which they performed, the local weather reporter asked the patriarch, Karl Wallenda, "May I give the weather report on the high wire?" Karl agreed.

The big moment came; the reporter stepped out, balanced, and gave a quick weather forecast. In an instant, the commercial break came and the reporter asked, "Mr. Wallenda! How do I step back, right foot or left foot?" In his haste to make high viewer ratings rather than be safe, the reporter was completely unaware of his new difficulty. Karl Wallenda said, "Son, you can't back up—you have to step forward." The nervous reporter said, "Mr. Wallenda, I can't do that; I have never walked the high wire, beside I am one step back from where I started." Wallenda said, "You've got thirty-three steps in front of you and it is safer to take thirty-three steps forward than one step back. Don't be afraid, I'll be right behind you."

The principle is true if you are going to live life on the level. Don't be afraid—and step forward. The Epistle of James teaches us about balance so we may walk forward with Jesus, no matter where He guides you. This book, and its study of James, will help you keep your balance as you walk across the high wire of the Christian life. Remember, it is easier to keep your balance walking forward rather than stepping backward. Can't you hear Christ whispering in your ear words of encouragement? Take another step and trust Him as you live Life on the Level.

From the Tea Party to the Occupy Movement to the Arab Spring, we live in a day where economic failure, rage and tragedy are common place. How do we survive all of this chaos and confusion? How do we find a real relationship with God when we live in a frantic, high paced, topsy-turvy world? Psalm 46 describes a time that is amazingly similar to our own time. The Psalm was written during a time of catastrophes. He describes earthquakes, landslides, floods, economic failure, kingdoms collapsing, and the people raging. It is during these times that we have the greatest opportunities to know God. This is when we need Him the most and when most are too busy to take the time. God comes to us and says, "Don't fear, have faith"? He doesn't remove these problems from our lives. He doesn't wave a magic wand to eliminate all the chaos and catastrophes from your life. God does, however, give you a coping mechanism. It is called faith. There are eleven verses in Psalm 46. In ten of these verses the psalmist is speaking about God; in only one verse is God speaking to the psalmist. The psalmist spends a lot of time crying to God about the problems of his life and in the world around him. This is something we are all familiar with. We do the same thing. What we need to see is what God said to the psalmist – and to us!
