       HARDDOWN.COM

The author’s website contains a wealth of transcripts of the letters and postcards of Captain John Isbester, his family and friends accompanied by spreadsheets recording details of his ships and voyages, of sailing ship casualties of the 1870s to 1910s, a transcript of the Articles of Agreement for Dalgonar’s final voyage and a sprinkling of photos which did not make it into the published book.

Readers can leave messages and comments in the Blog.

      THE ISBESTER ARCHIVE

The Isbester Archive is a considerable collection of letters, postcards, documents and photographs mainly gathered by Allan Isbester, fourth son of Captain John Isbester. They provide much of the source material for Jack Isbester’s historical biography of his grandfather.

The Isbester Archive has been accepted in principle by the Shetland Museum and Archive and is to be delivered to the Museum during the Summer of 2019.
