‘Meaningful Living across the Lifespan is an important book for the 21st Century.Educators, students and the general public will find much to ponder in the discussions of Victor Frankl and other ideas about meaning and how meaning is connected with occupation broadly defined as all human activity. Whereas the first parts of this book are theoretical, the final parts offer a detailed guide for practical action targeted to occupational therapists and occupational scientists. This is an important textbook for those who are concerned with occupation-based practice.’ Elizabeth Townsend, PhD, Professor Emerita, Dalhousie University Canada
‘This book by the brilliant team of Ikiugu and Pollard takes an occupational lens to the problem of how human beings achieve meaningful lives, given the challenges they face as individuals and in communities over time. A magisterial rethinking in occupational terms of social science and behavioral science, politics and the humanities, Meaningful Living across the Lifespan is a coming of age story for occupational therapy and occupational science. This is a book to help the world’s 350,000 occupational therapists—and generations of students—to expand and justify practice for more humane and sustainable lifestyles for all people and their cultures.’ Gelya Frank, Ph.D., Professor, Mrs. T. H. Chan Division of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy, University of Southern California
Occupational therapy and occupational science are based on the basic idea that participation in meaningful occupations is essential for health and a sense of well-being.However, there is no agreement regarding what constitutes meaningful occupation, or exactly how participation in meaningful occupation works to produce good health and a sense of well-being. In this book we attempt to bridge the gap between the postulation that meaningful occupations are related to health and a sense of well-being, and an understanding of how people use meaningful occupations to create and to discover meaning in their lives. Key topics in the book are:
· An understanding of meaningfulness from multiple perspectives
· Exploration of how people search for meaning throughout their lives using the analogy o fthe quest for meaning as a life-long journey
· Examination of how occupations are used to help people create and discover meaning at different stages in this life-long journey
· Illustration of a step-by-step application of a theoretical conceptual practice model that can be used to guide people in examining their lives and using occupations to optimize meaning in their lives
· Some thoughts about how occupational therapists/scientists can use occupation-based interventions not only to help people optimize meaning in their lives, but also to address the outstanding global problems of our times
This book is an important resource for occupational therapists and scientists who really want to understand meaningful occupations both conceptually and operationally.
This book is the first in the new series Critical Studies in Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science

In the Luke 14 Parable of the Great Banquet Jesus taught that a celebration unlike any other in all human history- a Great Banquet also known as the Wedding Feast of the Lamb- has been planned and is being prepared in heaven at this very moment. At the end of human history this banquet will be thrown for all who have responded to God’s RSVP. The magnitude and size of this banquet are incomprehensible. It will include all the people of faith of all history- the patriarchs, prophets, and apostles; the most infamous of saved sinners to the most insignificant of saints- the very least whom society had forgotten and discarded. The RSVP invitation list is growing daily but the questions is “How does one respond? “Who will be there?” How do we qualify? This award-winning book will tell you how as it motivates you with in-depth descriptions of the celebration. All the Old and New Testament accounts of this celebration are covered in depth. Jesus will be there! The optimal question is: are you Kingdom-bound and Banquet-ready?

Standing in absolute opposition to each other are two distinct groups. One side, who proclaim that he can do nothing right. The other side, who believe he has been particularly selected by God, with a host of unusual skills, for just such a time as this. Both can not be right! And so, a political, moral and spiritual battle is raging in America and around the world about President Donald J. Trump. Quite unknown by most of the general public is the fact that Christian prophets have been claiming for over a decade that Donald Trump is the chosen one, that he is God’s man for the White House for this particular hour. In this book, God’s Man in the White House, Professor James A. Beverley documents the hundreds of prophecies about Donald Trump that started over 10 years ago, and provides the political and religious context for the ongoing prophecies and controversies about the 45th president. Here is the most complete collection of over 500 prophesies and statements made by more than 100 prophets and top Christian leaders, including: Kim Clement, Mark Taylor, Lance Wallnau, Lana Vawser, Lou Engle, Jeremiah Johnson, Michael Brown, Frank Amedia, Franklin Graham, Jerry Falwell, Jr., Paula White, Stephen Strang, Robert Jeffress, Rodney Howard-Browne, Jim Garlow, and James Dobson. Whatever your view- you will benefit greatly from this collection.

This book is about leadership. It is, in fact, about the greatest leader model who ever lived. Ken Blanchard and Phil Hodges were the first to encourage us to follow Jesus as the ultimate example of leadership for all purposes. Theodore Mistra applied this principle to his own career and learned that even an executive’s highest calling is to become just such a shepherd leader. In The Shepherd and His Staff Mistra illustrates what the Bible reveals about the key principles and practices to becoming a shepherd leader. He shows that the shepherd as a leadership calling, role, and responsibility has equal force for both men and women. He asks us to remember that leadership applies to any person who has authority or influence over another person and that this influence is always to be used to glorify God whether in the home, church, schools, business or government.

Jim Cantelon is no stranger to Canadian Christians. His many decades in TV media has made him a highly recognized and beloved personality nation wide. Having already written several top-selling titles, now for the first time he applies his firsthand experiences gained during many years of compassionate ministry to the orphans of the world into a supernatural children’s tale. The Boy Who Sang for the Angels is an exciting story told using a setting of Europe during the mid-18th century. Jim paints a moving portrait of life during that period that resonates with the local color, music, cathedrals and customs of the time. The main story highlights a touching and most compelling account of the plight that many orphaned children faced during that period in history. Merging a delicate blend of the harshness and yet unexpected blessings of life for the main characters, he weaves a magical plot that is simply irresistible. The book contains 9 full-colour and beautifully illustrated drawings on high-gloss paper. It is recommended for ages 7-12 years, though, it will be read by «children» of all ages because of its universal appeal. Sure to become a Christmas classic, this is a book every child will benefit from and enjoy.

The connection between faith, leadership and public life is a complex one as Preston Manning knows all too well from his years as a scout and trailblazer on Canada’s political frontiers. Now, in his new book Faith, Leadership and Public Life: Leadership Lessons from Moses to Jesus he fearlessly tackles this subject by drawing upon his own years in Canada’s parliament and political arena and upon relevant lessons to be learned from the public lives of the founding giants of Judaism and the Christian faith. Starting with the public life of Jesus himself, he also draws upon the experience of those leaders whom Jesus most frequently referenced such as Moses and David, as well as examining the lives of leaders such as Joseph and Daniel who were called upon to exercise their faith in societies and political systems hostile to their beliefs. He challenges people of faith today to learn from their examples about how to conduct ourselves responsibly at the faith-political interface, while bringing what Jesus called “salt and light” to bear on the political issues and structures of our times. If you are a person of faith, currently active in politics or leadership, or contemplating involvement in either, the following pages will help you in meeting those challenges.

We are participating in changes that will soon define this period in history! As followers of Jesus, we want to immerse ourselves in this living story while learning from Jesus, living like Jesus and leading like Jesus so we may apply his principles and become transformational participants in the best story ever told. With a view towards helping us understand these principles by first identifying our own worldview, and better understanding the culture in which Jesus lived, Mary-Elsie Wolfe applies the values of Jesus to the model for leadership today. She offers us a vision for the future that is leading-edge yet moderate, traditional yet progressive. Drawing upon key Bible stories of women in Jesus’ day, our view of the future is enlarged as believers as she looks at the prominence of women in the early church and then applies key principles in an effective way for our day.
