About the Editor
Sam Goundar is an international academic and has taught at 11 different universities in nine different countries. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Blockchains and Cryptocurrencies (IJBC), Inderscience Publishers; Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Fog Computing (IJFC), IGI Publishers; Section Editor of the Journal of Education and Information Technologies (EAIT), Springer; and Editor-in-Chief (Emeritus) of the International Journal of Cloud Applications and Computing (IJCAC), IGI Publishers. He is also on the Editorial Review Board of more than 20 high-impact factor journals.
He is also the author of seven books: three published titles, namely, Architecture and Security Issues in Fog Computing Applications, E-Services (e-Commerce, e-Business, e-Government, and e-Learning) and Impact of Digital Transformation on Security Policies and Standards, and four forthcoming titles, namely, Innovations in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Smart Factory, Applications of Big Data in Large- and Small-Scale Systems, Enterprise Systems for Management: Applications and Practice and Convergence of Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence. A number of PhD and Master’s students have successfully completed their theses under his supervision.
As a researcher, apart from Blockchains, Cryptocurrencies, Fog Computing, Mobile Cloud Computing, Cloud Computing, and Educational Technologies, Dr. Sam Goundar also focuses on Management Information Systems, Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), Gamification in Learning, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, ICT in Climate Change, ICT Devices in the Classroom, Using Mobile Devices in Education, e-Government, and Disaster Management. He has published on all these topics. He was a Research Fellow with the United Nations University.
Dr. Sam Goundar has been teaching Information Systems (IS), Information Technology (IT), Management Information Systems (MIS) and Computer Science (CS) over the last 35 years at the undergraduate, postgraduate, Master’s and PhD levels. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer in Information Communications Technology at the British University, Vietnam. Prior to this, he was a Senior Lecturer in Information Systems at the University of the South Pacific, Affiliate Professor of Information Technology at Pontificia Universidad Catolica Del Peru (Peru), and Lecturer in Information Systems at the Victoria University of Wellington (Malaysian Partner Campus). He was also a Visiting Professor and Researcher at Hassan 1st University, Morocco (June–July 2019), and Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia (June–July 2018).
Dr. Sam Goundar is a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of ACS, a member of the IITP, New Zealand, Certification Administrator of ETA-I, USA and Former President of the South Pacific Computer Society. He also serves on the IEEE Technical Committee for Internet of Things, Cloud Communication and Networking, Big Data, Green ICT, Cyber Security, Business Informatics and Systems, Learning Technology and Smart Cities. He is a member of the IEEE Technical Society and a panelist with the IEEE Spectrum for Emerging Technologies.
