An alpha hero falls for the woman he’s sworn to take down in Amelia Autin’s latest Man on a Mission romance!
Help her. That’s all Niall Jones can think to do when his target almost panics. Undercover operative Niall is tracking suspected traitor Dr. Savannah Whitman, but when she comes under threat, he can’t help but swoop in to save her. And the sparks that fly between the secret agent and Savannah are anything but covert.
After a personal tragedy, Savannah decided to depart her high-security defense job to live life to the fullest. But she never expected to meet a sexy, mysterious stranger—or for her very safety to be under siege...and enigmatic Niall is the only one who can protect her!
“A challenge?” Niall murmured. “I love a challenge.”
He would. Savannah didn’t know how she knew that about him, but she did. He wasn’t talking about carrying on a conversation with her, of course. She wasn’t that naive. He was talking sex, plain and simple. She caught her breath, then shook her head. “I won’t be much of a challenge,” she said before she could think about how unwise it was to admit it.
He didn’t move closer, but somehow it felt as if he had. And instead of that choked-up feeling that always overcame her whenever she feared she couldn’t escape, this time her shortness of breath had nothing to do with fear and everything to do with excitement.
“You’re no pushover,” he told her, that tantalizing smile in his eyes matching the one on his lips. “Damned if I know what you are, but I know that much.”
Kiss me and find out.

Man on a Mission: These heroes, working at home and overseas, will do anything for justice, honor...and love
When I wrote Cody Walker’s Woman, I gave my heroine, Keira Jones, four brothers—all older, all former US Marines and all playing a role (good and bad) in shaping the woman she was.
Then I wrote Alec’s Royal Assignment, Liam’s Witness Protection and Killer Countdown, the stories of three of Keira’s brothers. But Niall—the second child of five, like me—was elusive. All I really knew about him at that point was how Liam described his brother in Liam’s Witness Protection—a onetime US Marine and now a black ops warrior. But that description alone captivated readers, who begged me for his story.
I fell in love with Niall when he showed up out of the blue in Killer Countdown to help his elder brother, Shane. Writing about Niall was easy after that, but I needed a woman to match him. All the Jones brothers except Niall had found exceptional women to love—Angelina, Cate and Carly. How could Niall settle for anything less?
Enter the brilliant Dr. Savannah Whitman, quietly exceptional. She’s not looking for love, especially in the arms of a man who lives in the shadows. But Robert Herrick wrote hundreds of years ago, “How Love came in, I do not know.” And neither do Niall and Savannah. Somehow, though, love creeps in on catlike feet when we least expect it, and Niall and Savannah are no exception in Black Ops Warrior.
I love hearing from my readers. Please e-mail me at [email protected] and let me know what you think.

Award-winning author AMELIA AUTIN is an inveterate reader who can’t bear to put a good book down...or part with it. She’s a longtime member of Romance Writers of America (RWA), and served three years as its treasurer.
