PREFACE
This book addresses a new branch in psychology called Cyberpsychology, which shows how there has been a change in the person-technology relationship, analyzing how new developments affect the day-to-day life of a person, as well as the mental health of its users. All this backed by an extensive bibliography on the latest research conducted in this area.
Social networks, the Internet and all the technological advances of recent years have changed the way we see the world and behave, a change in many cases radical, which cannot go unnoticed to Psychology majors, the science that studies human behavior.
The invention and use of tools such as the hatchet or the needle, first, and then machines such as the car or the computer, have subsequently revolutionized the way of relating to oneself and others.
To speak with a family member or a friend it is as simple as connecting persons that wish to communicate via Skype regardless of location. The technological advances that happened in this last decades has been so fast that it forced people to adapt so they can take advantage of this evolving technology. In this book it addresses how change has been produced and how it affects the day- to-day developments of the person just as in the mental health of its users. All this endorsed by an extensive bibliography about the latest studies conducted on this scope.

We have technology, that will help us prevail,
But let’s be careful, that we might fail.
Sometimes we are there, when we are connected
But we think not of ourselves, when the keyboard rejected.
Fantasies we transmit, as they cannot see
To others we tell, what we believe to be.
Limits are there to be, as we assure
Technology, won’t oppress thy be.
Uncontrolled hours, won’t let us eat
Always hooked, we shall not be.
LOVE.
Dedicated to My Parents
