But at least her helmet could now prevent smoke from choking her, Lina thought to herself, as her enchanted golden garb was now unable to guard her like it was designed to do. She also hoped that, if she were able to escape the burning ship, the helmet would be able to protect her lungs from any contaminates in the Earth’s surely spoiled atmosphere.
“Damn you, wretched dress!” Lina shouted. “You were made for times like these,” she yelled, inferring her inflection to her limp garb. A false grin started widening out across the face of the Mother as she attempted whole-heartedly to embrace the paradox that now gripped her forcefully.
Sweat was dripping from most parts of Magdalena’s body now, especially her bruised forehead from inside the dome helmet. She let out high-pitched wails as she continued to pierce and fling, kick and shove. Her Passion was lit like the growing flames around her. She tried her best to envision herself on the other side of the gap.
When she reached the opening, Lina picked up the fire extinguisher she had thrown toward this area, pulled the pin, and squeezed the trigger, aiming the vapors directly into the heart of the flame before the gap, attempting to douse as much of the fire that was blocking it as she could.
Once she had cleared a slight path before the opening, Lina tossed the red cylinder to the side and urgently stuck her spear into the hole, thrashing it around ferociously in an attempt to make it as wide as she could. After about a minute or so, Lina tossed her spear outside through the opening, then hurled her knapsack through.
The chance now came for her to fully exercise her willpower. Test her ‘luck’. Before the flames could return to block her path again, Lina cast all her infectious pain to the side, let loose a brawny wail, and quickly dove into the opening. She was able to get her head and torso through fairly easily, but she managed to get stuck around
