…What an awful task – to read boring books all summer! And the list is so long! I like reading but the books I like are usually not my school’s choice.

…How long is your school’s list of books? What kind of books do you like to read? Do you think an electronic book is a good choice when you’re travelling in the summer, and why?…

      Dear Ben,

Thank you for your email. I am glad to hear from you.

You asked me a few questions about reading books, and I would like to answer them now. Frankly speaking, my school’s list of books is quite long because each subject includes many of them. You won’t believe it, but I like to read comics and Japanese manga. There are a lot of images in them. It’s really exciting. In my opinion, an electronic book is not a good choice anymore, when you’re travelling in the summer since smartphones substituted it completely. An e-book has become old and obsolete.

Excuse me, I have to finish my email now.

      Write back soon.

      Best wishes,

      Igor

…I’ve just watched a TV series about robots, their past and future. Robots are so cool! If only they could do my homework.

…What jobs would you like a robot to do at your home? What else can robots be used for? Do you find science fiction films interesting, why or why not?…

      Dear Ben,

Thank you for your email. I am glad to hear from you.

You asked me a few questions about robots, and I would like to answer them now. You know if I had a robot at home, I’d like it to do all household chores and my homework, too. It would be quite helpful then. To my mind, robots can be also used for the delivery of products, car production, and driving cars. You won’t believe it, but I don’t find science fiction films interesting. They seem to me unreal and boring. There’re a lot of visual effects, but I’m not fond of them.

Excuse me, I have to finish my email now.

      Write back soon.

      Best wishes,

      Subject: The Earth Hour

…Yesterday was a special day – we had the Earth Hour. It’s one of the ideas of an ecological group called the Green Movement. We switched off the lights for one hour to draw people’s attention to the poor ecological situation on the planet.

…Do people have the Earth Hour in your country? What can people do to save energy in their everyday life? Do you approve of the Green Movement, and why?…

      Dear Ben,

Thank you for your email. I am glad to hear from you.

You asked me a few questions about saving energy, and I would like to answer them now. To tell the truth, people do not have the Earth Day in my country. It is no as popular as in yours. I think people can do a lot to save energy in their everyday life, for example, switch off light at home, use fewer home appliances. Honestly speaking, I neither approve of the Green Movement nor deny it. They call for green behaviour, but this is more like a dream than a reality.

Excuse me, I have to finish my email now.

…Do you make New Year resolutions, why or why not? What new hobby or new sport would you like to try? What do you usually do in your free time?…

      Dear Ben,

Thank you for your email. I am glad to hear from you.

You asked me a few questions about New Year resolutions, and I would like to answer them now. You know I don’t make New Year’s resolutions like my parents, for example, to get fit or quit smoking. I don’t have such kind of things to dream of making them true yet. To tell the truth, I would like to try windsurfing in summer. It looks fascinating, You won’t believe it, but I almost have not free time now because I have to prepare for my final exams.

Excuse me, I have to finish my email now.
