Die eigentlich effektivste und umweltschonendste Alternative zur Energiegewinnung fliegt uns bereits Millionen Jahre gewissermaßen um die Ohren. Zwar gab es da noch keine Menschen, die sich dies hätten zu Nutze machen können, aber das wurde dann 1912 interessant, als der österreichische Physik-Nobelpreisträger Victor Franz Hess die kosmische Strahlung entdeckte. Dieses Buch mit dem mystisch anmutenden Titel «Das ewige Licht» greift also das auf, was uns eben seit hunderten Millionen an Jahren umgibt, und wirft eine ganz neue Ansatzweise der Energieumwandlung auf. Denn bisher spielten die natürlichen, aber auch künstlichen Strahlungen in den neueren Betrachtungen der Energiewirtschaft keine Rolle, wurden eher von sogenannten Experten abfällig belächelt. Aber es ist gelungen, auf metallischen Oberflächen Stoffkombinationen zu entwickeln, die Neutrinos als Teilchen der kosmischen Strahlung am Durchfliegen hindern. Das Ergebnis sind Schwingungen von Atomen, die permanent Strom erzeugen können. Ist das der neue Weg, das «ewige Licht» immer leuchten zu lassen? Oder anders gesagt, ist das der Beginn eines neuen Energie-Zeitalters?
